Colin Andrews has extensive teaching and education leadership and management experience at primary and intermediate school level in Auckland and rural New Zealand.

Recently retiring from Blockhouse Bay Intermediate School, Colin has returned to Northland and settled in Whangarei Heads. With a long association with the North, Colin grew up in Onerahi and went to Onerahi Primary School and Kamo High School and has grandchildren and children living in the area.

As an educator, Colin has developed school leaders at all levels, with a strong track record of professionally developing and supporting staff into their next career step. He has developed international education relationships with Korea and China, and had a successful career in turning schools around into high functioning education environments connected to the local community.

Colin has served as an Executive on the APPA (Auckland Primary Principals Association) in the role of Treasurer for 10 years, awarded the ASB/APPA Travelling Fellow Award and the Service with Distinction Award from the APPA. Colin has experience at an advisory level across the education sector including as a member of the APPA/ASB  Travelling Fellow Selection Committee and most recently on a Ministry of Education committee, focused on reviewing and distributing Intensive Wrap Around funding for children with significant needs.

Colin is now committed to utilising his experience and skills in education consulting and appraisals across the North.
